I guess that puts to rest any hopes of October Project ever getting back together -- she had some pretty blunt things to say about the other members of the band.
The gig you mentioned is about an hour and a half from where I live, close enough to think about attending if I weren't swamped at work. (Come to think of it, I'm *always* swamped at work.) While looking Mary up in google, I saw that she played a gig about 25 minutes away about a month ago, but I hadn't heard of her yet then. Just missed!
Interesting that her husband is a professor at Rutgers. I don't know of many professors who are married to pop stars (or vice versa).
Loved the performance of Return to Me by Cara Dillion you posted. It's interesting to hear the song in a soprano voice. I also liked the drumming on this version better than the original. The original has the snare on the '3' beat, whereas Cara's version (see starting at 1:47) has the snare on the 'and' of 2, a half beat earlier. I like that "skipped heartbeat" feel (a term I borrowed from Leslie, who used it to describe the drumming on the BH album version of Goodbye).
Also, if there is ever a Cara Dillon movie, they should definitely get Naomi Watts to play her.
