To me, Joy Valencia is a wonderful example of the beauty of Indie music. There's a real musical substance and commitment to her work.

I suppose that in earlier days "Babydoll" would be called the B-side, but it's a fine showcase of Joy's very own production work in her home studio. It gets more and more interesting to me as the song progresses, and it's one of those kinds of productions best enjoyed with headphones. I enjoy that vocal interlude that pays homage to her beloved 60's band, The Association. Just before that is another brilliant section that, for some reason, made me think of The Visitors-era ABBA recorded with producer Michael Tretow.
