That's a name from the past, and a bit of a coincidence. She is originally from the area where I live - Portsmouth in the U.K. She played a couple of gigs here this summer in a local venue. I used to vaguely follow her work because I knew the guy who used to play bass for her. She does have a very distinctive voice, and still has a bit of a following here.
Interestingly, (for me anyway!), her old bass player, (Steve Greetham), regularly plays in Paul Young's side project band, called Los Pacaminos. They play 'Tex Mex' music, and are terrific fun as a live band. The band is made up of a bunch of marvellous session musicians. I'm not sure how the 'Artist of the Week' thing works here, is it any sort of music? (I guess I should search the f.a.q section); but I may try and put together a profile for them.
