Yes, it's one of life's joy to see the music passed to the next generation. 27-Oct-2013 20:10:17

Thanks for the information on the Peace Thru Music. I can't recall you mentioning to me before, but maybe you did. I did find that iTunes has a joint Nathan McEuen/Chelsea Williams concert at Colorado's MeadowGrass Music Festival in 2011 here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/festivalink-presents-nathan/id475397968. It includes a beautiful live version of Chelsea and Nathan's song "Lately" (Chelsea solos on "Lovesick Blues" and "Squeeze Box").
Yes, I can't believe it's been over three years. I first saw Nathan McEuen perform on Father's Day weekend in 2010 at the Huck Finn Jubilee with Scott Gates and Chuck Hailes. I didn't know him at all then. I had actually come to see Sierra Hull. I thought Nathan was brilliant and afterwards I bought his Scrapbook Sessions CD. While I was driving away, I put the CD in my car stereo and was greatly surprised to hear Chelsea Williams on "Lately"! So I bought a Chelsea Williams song without even knowing it! Then I got to see him in 2011 in Ventura (where Paul Cartwright joined him) and also Paso Robles. Disappointingly, I still haven't had the chance to see Chelsea perform live. By the way, I really love Paul's solo on the Salty Suites' officially released version of Chelsea's song "June Carter". I can't thank you enough, Rick, for all of the *extra* Chelsea/Salty Suites goodies.
Thanks for the Crosby Loggins video. I really love the song that Nathan McEuen wrote with Crosby called "Grand Design" - the studio version on Nathan's 2005 Grand Design album. I found this version from Castoro Cellars with John McEuen joining in. (Nathan's great sense of humor on stage always makes me laugh).
Nathan has some of his live music available (for free) here: http://www.inthemusicroom.com/artist-nathanmceuen.htm. I added over 20 tracks to my Nathan McEuen collection, including his fabulous cover of "It's Now Or Never".
John McEuen's other son, Jonathan McEuen, and his first cousin Jaime Hanna (the son of Jeff Hanna also of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band), made some recordings as 'Hanna-McEuen' including this beautiful song called "Ocean":
Here's yet another example of the generations passing down the music: Bertolf Lentink with his dad who taught him how to play:
Speaking of which, Bertolf (as you know, one of my musical heroes) has been busy recording the debut album with his new project called Color Reporters. I found this video from the studio http://youtu.be/SiUPihvwsOM. They've already done some live performances, such as this one:
...all of this taking me far afield from the wonderful debut EP of Emily Gold, but it's good to talk of these things!
P.S. I saw the recent YouTube uploads of the Salty Suites made by your buddy. Great stuff!
