Thanks Steve. Good clip of Basia, though she was lip syncing (sp?). That was a long time ago indeed.
If you want to hear her more recently, listen to her live album "From Newport to London".
Music is indeed a universal language. Basia is from Poland, and when she wrote the songs for her first album "Time and Tide" she didn't really speak much English. Amazes me. Yet so many English speaking people embraced her music.

When I heard Basia sing "Love Lies Bleeding" and "I Must" on "From Newport to London" I thought of Andrea's attitude songs.
Lyrics in part . . .
Love Lies Bleeding:
it's highly suspicious
what is your secret
there must be a motive
a hidden agenda
no-one's that stupid and altruistic
to love so deeply
and so completely
oh no, you're crazy
you cannot help it
‘cause without this torture life has no meaning
there is no reason to go on

I Must:
in how many ways can i still prove that i love you
in spite of all the crazy tests that you had put me through
how else am i to show you that i forgive you
for countless indiscretions performed in style by you
how many times you hope that i would ignore it
when you commit another crime and kick my love to death
now i see that things will have to change, right now
oh, things will have to change around here
how often do i have to say: not to worry
when you do something stupid, simply just because you're vain
