An album that's sorta related to THE SAME SUN

In 2012, Susanna Hoff's (of Bangles fame) released Someday her first solo album in 15 years. It's very much a reflection of Susanna's love of melody and the music of the Sixties. The producer of the album is none other than Mitchell Froom who went on later to work with Sharon Corr on The Same Sun.

From my listening to both of the albums, they share a lot of characteristics musically. Also, from reading this interview from 2012, I picked up a lot of similarities between the situation of Susanna Hoffs and Sharon, including the initial feeling of nervousness after leaving the band and working solo, as well as finding inspiration in working with another songwriter with a Nashville connection (Sharon working with Nashville-based Irish songwriter Don Mescall and Susanna working with a young songwriter just arrived in L.A. from Nashville, Andrew Brassell).

A couple videos of tracks from the album.

Mitchell Froom has my respect for the work he's done on a lot of albums in my collection.
