This is the new album Canyons and Mountaintops from Garness www.garnessmusic.com, a band comprised of twin sisters Ingelin Reigstad Norheim and Hildegunn Garnes Reigstad from Norway. They grew up in a musical family on the island of Holsnøy outside Bergen. The album will release officially on 28 April 2017, though I was able to download it already at iTunes. It is their second English-language pop album; the first was the self-produced The Good or Better Side of Things that came out in 2008 ("Typical You" video HERE). Ingelin, the older sister by nine minutes, plays the guitar. Hildegunn plays a variety of percussion and stringed instruments such as the Marxophone. Both have exceptional voices that have an amazing effect when singing together in harmony. Together, they have written the music for this new album.

Here is a brief promo video for the album release featuring the song "Mountaintop":

Below I have embedded a YouTube playlist for the album (I'm not sure how long the music will be available, and there may be some geo-blocks coming into play for which I apologize):

Some of my early favourites are "Mountaintop", "Rescue Me", and "Come Down" (which was the lead single, released in March 2017). But there are some very beautiful, more delicate, songs that are also wonderful. The song "Tomorrow" has a very positive lyrical message.

I learned of Garness due to the fact that one or both sisters were often in the band of Marit Larsen. However, the are well known in Norway for their singing with the Oslo Gospel Choir. In connection with the release of a Norwegian-language Christmas album in 2013, the sisters gave a well-received televised concert in Norway.
