I think it was IrishHeart, a member or one-time member here, who introduced us several years ago to English singer, Harriet. I recently came across some cover songs that she did as part of her 'Piano Sessions' series of concerts that resulted in an album release.
I recently came across her upload of one of her live covers: "Alone Again (Naturally)," an early '70s hit by Gilbert O'Sullivan.
I recall that, when we had earlier discussions here about Harriet, we noted that her vocals have some similarities to those of Karen Carpenter. As part of her Piano Sessions limited release, Harriet actually features a previously-unreleased demo recording produced by Steve Anderson of "Goodbye to Love," done essentially stripped-down with piano and some layered vocals (no guitar solo), which I thought quite good.
I enjoyed these covers (and her cover of the Glenn Frey/Don Henley penned "Desperado" https://youtu.be/bO91uGsYq9s that the Carpenters also covered), so I went to her webshop (https://www.harrietsmusic.com/shop/) and purchased this album that actually came out in early 2020 around the time of the onset of the COVID-19 disaster, and it had escaped my notice. At the same time, I bought Harriet's recently-released limited edition CD single "Nothing Hurts Like You" that comes with a cover of "The Winner Takes It All" (written by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus). It's a fine cover, but - as I found with the Corrs' 1999 Abbamania version - it's so hard to match up with the original version with Agnetha Fältskog.
"Nothing Hurts Like You" has a definite '70s vibe, and the visual effects of the music video appear to underscore that "retro" feel of the '70s:
