Dan Wesley, a country/gospel musician, producer and studio engineer from the UK had done at his YouTube channel some reaction videos to Tori's work. He reached out to Tori, and they put together this recording. Wesley writes:
Back in 1974 The Carpenters appeared on the Perry Como TV show where they sang a medley of each other's hits. We got to hear Karen sing one verse of this beautiful song. I instantly wondered what it would have sounded like if she had recorded the full song. So with the aid of the super talented voice of Tori Holub we recorded this version.
At her own channel, Tori recently posted this short-form video of Olivia Newton John's song "Sam" that was written by John Farrar, Hank Marvin; and Don Black, recorded in 1976 and released in early 1977:
Reports** are that, while she was in California in April this year, Tori shot a music video for the original song "Something to Believe In." She is also working again with James Wilkas (aka Jim MIDI Doctor), this time on a reconstruction of the Carpenter's Bacharach-David song, "(They Long to Be) Close to You." She is also working on an original song called "Years Gone By." Other projects are in the works, but these are not yet ready to be disclosed to the public.
