That medley is one of my favorite Carpenters pieces. I particularly like this version from the Carol Burnett Show, taken at a breakneck tempo:
I love Karen's singing on the first song, "Knowing When to Leave", especially the way she gets out the staccato 16th notes at 0:58 and later. She could do a lot more than just sing slow ballads.
I also listened to the Lee Richey interview with Tori -- I don't remember if you linked it in another post, or if I came across it myself on youtube, but it was a nice interview.
