- A quote from Sharon from the Borrowed Heaven Documentary (at 5:10):

It's about breakups I've experienced and it's about what I would feel if I broke up with my husband. It wouldn't be good, I can say that."

- A quote from Sharon from the Wetten Dass? interview:
"It's a very emotional song, and I think it's a song - lyrically - that a lot of people can relate to. I think a lot of people... Almost everybody is being involved in a break-up at some stage of their life. So I think it touches a lot of people. There isn't really a message, it's just a sort of... It's really about how you feel when you spend the first night alone after being with somebody for a long time. It's just how scared you are of being alone, and how insecure it all is to be on your own again. It's about the emotions of all those feelings."
- Although Long Night was written by Sharon, the video features only Andrea (and Sharon very shortly during her violin solo). The video shows different versions of Andrea moving backwards through a love affair with a young man. It was shot on October 29, 2004 in Chicheley Hall in Buckinghamshire (north of London). Chicheley Hall was built in the 18th century and is still open for the public today.
- The single for Long Night reached #4 in Brazil and remained on the Top 10 for several weeks. It was used on a famous prime time national soap opera called "Senhora do Destino".
