Information:
- Happy Christmas (War is Over) was one of the encore songs
in the Wembley Arena (Live in London) concert which the Corrs played
four days before Christmas. (Source: Setlist FM
- It was also played on December 10, 2000 for U.S. President Bill
Clinton as part of the annual "Christmas In Washington" concert, a
benefit for the Children's National Medical Center, from the
National Building Museum.
Before playing the song, the band
took the opportunity to thank the President for his efforts in
helping ease the troubles between Northern Ireland and the Republic
of Ireland. When President Clinton visited Dundalk just two
days later he made some remarks to the locacl citizens and noted:
"Let me say that for Hillary, Chelsea, and me, it's great to be in
the hometown of the Corrs. Now, we had the priviledge of being with
them and hearing them sing in Washington just Sunday night. They
did you proud. I understand their success has been great for your
community, except that in this tight labor market, you haven't been
able to replace them down at McManus' Pub."
- Performed along with O Holy Night on Good Morning America
in the U.S. in 2000.
Written By:
- This song is originally by Plastic Ono Band - written by
John Lennon and Yoko Ono, and like many of their songs, is a protest
against the Vietnam War. (Wikipedia Page)

Lyrics:
So this is Christmas and what have you done,
Another year over, a new one just begun.
And so this is Christmas, I hope you have fun,
The near and the dear ones, the old and the young.
A very merry Christmas and a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one without any fears.
And so this is Christmas for weak and for strong,
The rich and the poor ones, the road is so long.
And so happy Christmas for black and for white
For the yellow and red ones let's stop all the fights.
A very merry Christmas and a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one without any fear.
And so this is Christmas and what have we done
Another year over, a new one just begun.
And so happy Christmas we hope you have fun
The near and the dear ones, the old and the young.
A very merry Christmas and a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one without any fear.
War is over if you want it, war is over now.
